Sustainability & Environmental Action

Through Four Moons Yoga Therapy, I offer yoga and Ayurveda not just as tools for personal healing, but as a quiet form of advocacy for a more sustainable way of living. With my background in Environmental Studies and Sustainability, I see a clear connection: when we begin to care deeply for our own health—through movement, mindful routines, and nourishing choices—we naturally begin to live in a way that supports the health of the planet.

My hope is that by helping people reconnect with their bodies and cultivate compassionate self-awareness, I can spark small shifts that ripple outward—creating a more conscious, resilient, and connected community.

As I believe that we have two homes—our bodies and the Earth—so we must take care of them.

Living Sustainably Starts Within: Exploring the Link Between Yoga, Ayurveda, and the Environment

At Four Moons Yoga Therapy, I use the guiding pillars of Bodyfulness, Mindfulness, Nourishment, and Digestion to explore how my relationship with yoga and Ayurveda can support a more sustainable way of living. These practices help me—and those I work with—cultivate a deeper connection to the body, to the rhythms of nature, and to the choices we make every day. By tuning inward and aligning with these foundational principles, we begin to live more intentionally, reduce excess, and create harmony between personal wellness and environmental care.

Living Sustainably Starts Within:

NOURISHMENT

Nourishment goes beyond what's on your plate—it's about everything you take in, from food to media to your surroundings. I guide clients using the SOUL food principles: eating Seasonal, Organic, Unprocessed, and Local foods that support both personal health and the environment by reducing waste, packaging, and carbon footprints. Additionally, many harmful toxins are found in plastic food containers and skincare products. When we focus on our health and aim to avoid these toxins, we begin to make choices that support a plastic-free lifestyle. This includes buying produce and grains in bulk, shopping at local farms and farmers markets, and reducing our dependence on packaged goods. True nourishment also means looking at what you're feeding your mind—are you constantly consuming screen time, noise, and stimulation? When we become more mindful of all forms of consumption, we begin to crave less, choose more intentionally, and find greater contentment in simpler, more natural rhythms of life.arbon footprints.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is about attuning to your own inner rhythms and becoming more present with the world around you. I help clients become more aware of how the changing seasons affect their physical and emotional states, and how daily patterns—sleep, energy, mood—can guide more aligned, compassionate choices. Just like in biotic communities, where each organism plays a role in maintaining balance, we too have unique offerings that contribute to the health of our human ecosystem. When we live mindfully and recognize our gifts, we can offer them in service to others—an expression of Karma Yoga, the yoga of selfless action. Through this, we foster more compassionate relationships, sustainable communities, and a deeper sense of collective well-being.

DIGESTION

In Ayurveda, digestion is everything—“To eat is human, but to digest is divine.” When our digestion is strong, our health improves, our energy stabilizes, and we naturally need less to feel well. That means fewer supplements, fewer packaged health products, and fewer deliveries—translating into less waste and a lighter environmental footprint. And yes, on a very real level, better digestion even means less time in the bathroom, less toilet paper, and less water used. By supporting our digestion with aligned food choices, routines, and stress management, we nourish ourselves more efficiently and live more sustainably—both internally and externally.

BODYFULNESS

Bodyfulness is about how we inhabit and show up in the world through our bodies. In a culture that often teaches us to critique or alter ourselves to meet unrealistic, digitally enhanced standards, many people feel disconnected from their natural form. Through somatic movement and energetic release, I help clients reconnect with their bodies—not to change how they look, but to feel at home in their own skin. When we start to feel good physically, we stop chasing artificial fixes and start embracing our natural selves. We remember that we are nature, and in that remembrance, we’re drawn back to what’s real—spending more time outdoors, engaging with the elements, and moving in harmony with life. Returning to our bodies is a radical act of self-love and environmental connection.

I am always looking to collaborate and connect with others who share the vision of an environmentally conscious world.
